CALLING ALL WRITERS

In making as many efforts as possible to make the info of theBURN true to who YOU are as students, I think it would be great to start having weekly submissions by some of you who have writing desires. The best way to get your info published on the site would be to send me an email at jchandler@theburnstudents.com and I will read through it and get it on the site for you. YEARLY BIBLE READING

It seems a lot of people I know are looking to complete the Bible within this year. Seems like a good goal to set and one by which you can have IMMENSE growth. Some Bibles don't come equipped with a list to follow and it's hard to keep track of the paperwork, so you can check out this site www.esv.org/biblereadingplans and it will give you plenty of options and mediums to make it happen. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LADIES

To the women of theBURN, a big congratulations is due you for your slaughtering the men during Battle of the Sexes. Though a comeback was being mounted, you all beat us soundly. To all the women who were in attendance, pizza will be ready for you on Wednesday Night. Hail to the victors.

WHAT A GREAT NIGHT

[THIS POST HAS BEEN BACKLOGGED SINCE WEDNESDAY. ALLOW ME TO MAKE UP FOR IT.]

Tonight is a great night in the history of our family. I don't think there was something outlandish or special in what we did, but what we were shooting for. It was the goal we were aiming for, not what was said or done. For quite some time we have not set goals or expectations within theBURN. As we've come to settle on how things are, we now can look to how we would like things to be. For the students and leaders of theBURN, there has not been much expectation, but that will change shortly. The leaders and I have dialogued about that but not it's our time to talk with you the students also.

For you, nothing more has been expected of you then not to end up in jail. God has set something significantly higher than that for you. For those of you who missed it, I'll attach the portion of Scripture we read.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

For those of you who missed the sermon, you can listen to it on the sidebar and play a little catch-up. I'd love for everyone to be here this Wednesday as we lay out a little bit of what that looks like. TONS OF LOVE TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF THEBURN. It is going to be a great year.
